Privileged Birth Assistants have their own businesses and contract with midwives and practices to assist at births.  Fees are negotiated with each midwife or practice separately and usually depend on the level of training the assist has achieved.

Privileged Birth Assistants:

--receive a credentialed status and certificate 

--can register themselves on a Roster so that any privileged or resident midwife with the birth center can hire them

--use of the facility for client meetings if they are also a doula at no charge

--Your application will be reviewed within five business days

If accepted: 

--Receive notice of active credential

Fees:

$50 annually covers administrative fees for onboarding 

--This fee is waived if you were directed to apply under one of the privileged midwive practices
