When it comes to Apple Health it is normal to feel confused and overwhelmed about how to sign up and which plan to ask for.

As part of our commitment to sharing community resources with you, we want to let you know about one of the Apple Health options called Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW).

CHPW was founded in 1992 to serve Washington State families with health insurance that is based on a not-for-profit, community-driven framework. They have been instrumental in advocacy for the health of parents and babies in Washington State. They partner with a series
of community-based primary care clinics across the state, distinguishing them from the larger health care systems and allowing them flexibility to meet community health needs.
CHPW has a number of initiatives aimed at improving the lives of families in our area and we would like to share a few of them with you.
Every CHPW member has access to a community health navigator who can walk them through how to receive these program benefits and services:

CHPW members of all ages can get up to 20 acupuncture, massage, and chiropractic visits per year.  Click Here for more information. 

1. Healthy You, Healthy Baby
o Individual support and goal setting before, during and after pregnancy
o Free breast pump delivered to your home, plus advice on feeding
o Education on pregnancy milestones and what to expect
2. Circumcision
o Up to $200 coverage for non-medically necessary circumcision
3. Children First™: Rewards for you and your child
o Gift cards for prenatal and postpartum doctor visits
o Gift card for each well-child checkup
4. Social Services
o Get connected with local resources for housing, food banks, rides to medical
appointments and more
o Help applying for EBT card, WIC, disability, and other benefits
5. Tribal Health Services Navigation
o Receive care that respects your individual needs, experiences, and goals

Rainier Valley Midwives has no financial incentive for recommending CHPW as a health plan. Our recommendation is based solely upon what we have seen work for families.
