Mackenzie Kulsrud is a board-certified Nurse Midwife providing compassionate and inclusive care at the Rainier Valley Birth & Health Center’s Renton location. She offers comprehensive services including prenatal & postpartum care, annual wellness, contraception counseling, family planning, and general gynecologic care. 

She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Washington in 2024. Before becoming a midwife, Mackenzie worked as a nursing assistant and then as a registered nurse in the medical-surgical unit at the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System. There, she developed a strong foundation in detail-oriented, patient-centered care and saw firsthand the need for greater access to specialized care and gynecologic services. Inspired by this experience—and her love of labor and delivery during nursing school—she was drawn to the field of midwifery.

Mackenzie is committed to building trusting, collaborative relationships with her patients. She believes in shared decision-making and strives to create a warm, welcoming environment where every individual feels respected, informed, and empowered.

Outside of work, Mackenzie enjoys cuddling and playing with her two cats, Luna and Koda, taking walks through Lincoln Park in West Seattle, and signing up for all kinds of classes from cooking and crafting to dancing and more.
