CBS

Certified Breastfeeding Specialist

Melody Datz Hansen is a breastfeeding specialist, postpartum doula, writer, and mom. Her breast/chestfeeding work is informed by backgrounds in global health research, attachment parenting, natural baby sleep patterns, and mindfulness parenting.

Melody’s interest in birth work began as a child in South Texas, where she was surrounded by strong families who supported each other through the birth and postpartum periods. Her approach to baby feeding centers on the unique needs of the parents and baby, recognizing that the physical and emotional changes that come with a new child are life altering. Melody provides evidence based information to help guide families through the joys and challenges of breast/chest and bottle feeding.

Melody lives in North Seattle with her partner and son, where they enjoy hiking, cooking, and living room dance parties. Melody is a certified breastfeeding specialist with Lactation Education Resources, working on clinical hours toward her IBCLC. She is a postpartum doula in private practice and an MA in Eastern European studies from Jagiellonian University.
